Female entrepreneurs are a vital part of the UK’s business community, says Denise Chilton

Executive business coach, Denise Chilton, is one of only 90 people to be accepted onto the Santander UK Breakthrough Women Business Leaders’ Mentoring Programme.

Powered by Women Ahead, a social enterprise working with organisations to improve workplace diversity and inclusion, the pioneering mentoring programme will see successful female business leaders from across the UK supporting the next generation of female entrepreneurs as they consider their next stage of business and professional growth.

Denise Chilton said, “As a woman who left a successful career to launch a business, I understand how daunting it can be navigating the ups and downs of business, but I also know how rewarding it can be.

“Mentoring and coaching helps women to challenge their thinking, to take risks and to build their resilience and confidence levels so they can be the business leader they hope to become. It offers the mentee the opportunity to be inspired by and learn from someone who has walked a similar path and overcome the challenges the mentee now faces.

“According to the Women and Work Commission, helping women to achieve their potential could be worth up to £23bn a year so organisations who want to increase productivity and performance really should be supporting their female employees with formal mentoring programmes.”

Denise Chilton was awarded the Northern Power Women ‘Mentor of the Year’ Award in 2017 and shortlisted for Forward Ladies’ ‘Diversity Champion of the Year’ Award in 2018 for her work with female women in business across Liverpool.
